Sailing from Venice, the Muda of Syria reached important ports along the eastern Mediterranean coast, touching the island of Cyprus as far as Beirut, Aleppo, and Laiazzo. Through this navigation, valuable ingredients such as rose, precious woods and resins such as storax and frankincense were brought to Venice, as well as other valuable goods such as cotton and sugar.
