A blackened glow of vanilla. In the sixth creation of the “Collection Matières”, BDK Parfums turns vanilla into something rich, textured, and luminous. Crafted by perfumer Alexandra Carlin in 2025, the scent opens with the crisp tang of black-currant bud, cardamom and calamus, then moves into a heart where a “caviar” treatment of vanilla meets cocoa and osmanthus.
The base gives warm depth via Madagascar vanilla (in both CO₂ extract and absolute), Peru balsam and cistus labdanum, giving the dry-down a powerful resinous quality rather than syrupy sweetness. The concept plays on contrast: a dark pod of vanilla becomes light, a salty-mineral accent frames the gourmand core.
