The opening combines pink pepper, turmeric leaf and buchu leaf, creating an aromatic and lightly spicy introduction with herbal facets. Iris gradually moves to the forefront alongside galbanum and lentisque, adding earthy, resinous and softly creamy nuances. The base settles into sandalwood, warm labdanum and Saffiano™, an exclusive IFF accord that blends leathery strength with suede-like softness.
Created by Dominique Ropion and released in 2025, Velvet Iris is composed as an Eau de Parfum concentrated at 17%. The formula uses beetroot-derived alcohol and follows the minimalist, sustainability-focused direction of Essential Parfums.
