MASQUE MILANO Eau de parfum Kintsugi 100 ml
MASQUE MILANO
II – IV KINTSUGI Be strong. Mend broken bonds with gold.
Kintsugi, meaning "golden joinery" in Japanese, is the ancient art of repairing broken pottery with Urushi lacquer mixed with precious metal powders. This practice celebrates imperfection, emphasizing resilience and beauty in restoration. Translating this concept into a fragrance required the expertise of Vanina Muracciole, who embraced the metaphor with a refined olfactory composition.
Instead of traditional oak moss, she introduced a salty, savory amber accord, evoking the fine grain of unglazed porcelain. The crisp magnolia blossom gives way to a sensual, golden suede accord, blending seamlessly with Grasse rose centifolia and violet leaves. The entire structure is held together by Patchouli Coeur, a refined version of patchouli obtained through fractional distillation, where its raw, musty facets are removed to reveal its pure, elegant essence.
Just as Kintsugi gives new life to broken objects, this fragrance reinterprets the Chypre family, reviving an old formula by filling its cracks with gold. The scent challenges modern consumerism, where broken things are discarded rather than repaired. It symbolizes a return to appreciating longevity and craftsmanship, celebrating perfect imperfection.
Kintsugi is more than a fragrance—it is an artistic statement, a tribute to resilience, beauty in flaws, and the art of mending the past with gold.

MASQUE Milano is the true expression of who we are, as well as our life and passions. We do what we love and love what we do, nothing is imposed. If we are not convinced of something, we simply don’t do it.
MASQUE Milano Opera Collection - the opera of life in four acts.
People we meet often ask us why we drew our inspiration from musical opera. We are both Italians… We enjoy life in the style of La Dolce Vita.
Very often, many foreign friends tell us that we are lucky because we grew up in an open-air museum. Could they be more right? Immersed in the traditions of art and architecture, music and ballet, everything we do now speaks of our origins. We have both been musicians for over 20 years, collecting musical instruments, and we love to go to La Scala (the opera house in Milan).
When we started developing our line of fragrances, it was very natural for us to develop the concept around art, rooted in Italian culture and traditions, and this is musical opera.
In each individual scene of the opera, some characters change, as well as the main hero and elements of the setting. Similarly, in our lives, we can change the "mask" (appearance, lifestyle, friendships, tone of voice, or manner of speaking), but we can never part with our innermost individuality.
What makes a fragrance a masterpiece, if not the ability to evoke olfactory memories? The fragrance line is a collection, not just a set of fragrances under one brand, where different olfactory memories are connected by a common thread.
